Akkara House, near Kottayam town, Kerala, is a large, secluded
and comfortable property set on the river-bend of the Meenachil
River. It has quaint rooms, with terracotta floors, period furniture,
and a large open courtyard with steps leading to the river. Each
guest is personally attended by your host Mrs. Shanta Kurian.
Akkara is an ideal place to spend some quite moments, savour some
traditional Syrian Christian cuisine, explore the myriad rivulets,
backwaters and lakes in ‘Kettuvallams’- house boats or just simply laze.
